ISSUE THREE COLLECTORS EDITION
Following the success of our second issue, we are excited to announce that ARTICLE Issue Three is now available. Continuing with our exploration of all things British and British-related, the issue is packed with features on art, design, culture and fashion – and with stories which span from the Victorian Age to the present day.
In Wiltshire, we document the history of Upper Lawn, the country’s finest mid-century house – and hear what it was like to be the children of England’s most infamous modern architects. We go behind-the-scenes at classic luxury label Globe-Trotter, uncovering the surprising story behind the foundation of the modern luggage industry. Menswear designer Christopher Raeburn, one of London’s brightest young talents, opens up about his unconventional journey into fashion, and explains his fascination with reworking archival military uniforms; and we profile the artist Jacky Tsai, whose colourful pieces explore the intricate cultural connections between East and West. As summer approaches, we revisit childhood holidays by the British seaside, and take a day-trip to a Seventies’ house in Whitstable for a beautifully-framed fashion editorial.
Elsewhere, our contributors wax lyrical on topics as diverse as vintage typewriters and the enduring appeal of the English breakfast. Our collaborator for the latest installment of our ‘Circular Project’ is graphic designer Vaughan Oliver, the man behind some of the most memorable album covers of the last three decades. And our cover star for this issue, Game of Thrones and New Worlds actor Joe Dempsie, talks about his role in one of this summer’s most keenly anticipated film sequels - Monsters: Dark Continent.
